Welcome to our holiday cottage in Cornwall. The Old Smithy cottage offers quality self catering holiday accommodation for 4 people. This quaint character Cottage is located on the bank of the stream that runs down the valley to Crackington Haven, near Bude on the north coast of Cornwall. Pets are welcome at this Cornish cottage. The cottage is part of Mineshop Holiday cottages, a family owned business since 1968, which has the beautiful Old Shippon cottage which sleeps 6, and six Miners cottages, which each sleep 4. Pets and dogs are welcome at all these family friendly Cornish cottages.

Our Cornish Holiday Cottages

The Old Smithy sleeps up to 4 people in 2 bedrooms, with one Double and one Bunk room. The holiday cottage has been converted from the Blacksmith's Shop and has a lot of character with its beamed ceilings. There is a Lounge/Dinning room, with a Colour T.V. The kitchen is fully equipped with full size electric Cooker, Fridge with Ice Box, Microwave etc. The fully fitted bathroom has a full size bath, basin, toilet, (there is no Shower in this Cottage). Please note that bed linen is provided free of charge. There are heaters in all rooms and for the colder months Storage heating is included in the price you pay.

Our Cottages’ Location on the North Coast of Cornwall

The holiday cottage is located close to Crackington Haven, near Bude, in Cornwall, in the beautiful south-west of England. Mineshop is a private tranquil sheltered suntrap, in a peaceful wooded valley just a one mile stroll through the meadows and woods to the beach at Crackington Haven, which is surrounded by National trust cliffland, which offers scenery second to none.

The cottage is close to Bude (9 miles), and many popular local attractions such as the Eden Project about 35 to 40 minutes, and Tintagel. Shops and Pubs are 1 and 2 miles.

Crackington Haven and the beach

You can walk to the Beach at Crackington Haven by taking the footpath through the Valley fields and Woodland. The distance is about 1 mile and takes between 20 and 30 minutes. At the Beach you will find a Pub selling Traditional Ales and Bar Food, two excellent Coffee Shops offering good value Lunches etc and a Beach Gift Shop.

Lifeguards operate at the Beach during the Summer Holiday from 10am to 6pm every day. Please take notice of the Flags and Signs. Surf Hire, if you wish to Hire a Surfboard or a Wetsuit you can do so by asking at The Cabin at Crackington Haven. Tennis Courts, if you would like to have a Game while you are here, you can hire a Court at The Beach Cafe.
