Oak Lodge is one of three self catering cottages (all VisitScotland 4-Star) in the spacious grounds of Tirindrish House, home of the famed leader of the first skirmish of the 1745 Jacobite rebellion. There are wonderful views and Oak Lodge is just ten minutes walk from the village of Spean Bridge, which has excellent restaurants.
We are ideally placed for touring some of the best and most scenic parts of the Highlands, We are in fact only ten minutes or so drive from some great attractions: The gondola to the Aonach Mor mountain and ski area, Ben Nevis, Britain's highest mountain, the Caledonian Canal, and Fort William, billed as the Outdoor Capital UK.
Oak Lodge, with its large sun room offering mountain views, is wonderfully placed for lovers of the outdoors as the Great Glen Way and the Leanachan Forest walks are very close. For mountain bike fans and walkers the area is a paradise with many wonderful paths, including the forest Witch's Trail.
There's plenty of wild life -- and guests will sometimes see a deer strolling past their cottage!
There is a storage shed for bikes, plenty of parking, and an outside barbecue. The cottage has its own large garden and guests have free use of our excellent tennis court -- we provide the racquets and balls.
