Welcome to our beautiful three bedroom self-catering holiday cottage near Wigtown in Dumfries and Galloway. Situated in the most beautiful part of south west Scotland, Rose Cottage overlooks the beautiful Wigtown bay nature reserve, which is a haven for many types of wildlife. While retaining its rural location and rustic beauty, Rose cottage is within one mile of Wigtown itself, where you can find many shops, inns and cafés. The fantastic Wigtown bay nature reserve surrounds our cottage with stunning scenery, fantastic beaches, ancient historic sites, idyllic forest parks and many other wonderful attractions. We are willing to cater for any type of holiday makers in our self catering holiday cottage, and dogs are more than welcome.
Our Self Catering Holiday Cottage Accommodation and Features
Our recently refurbished luxury self-catering holiday cottage can sleep up to six people in one double room, one twin room and one single room with bunk beds. This makes it perfect for an idyllic family holiday or a large group. The double room contains a king-size double bed, plenty of storage space and excellent views from the window. The twin room has two single beds, side table and a television. The large living area is perfect for relaxing in and has a television with DVD player, a radio, and ample seating for the whole group, with an open fire for the colder months (fuel provided free of charge). The kitchen is fully fitted with all modern appliances, and has a dining table seated for six. There is a washing machine and tumble dryer for your clothes and in the vicinity there is an indoor heated swimming pool, games barn and children’s play area. The whole cottage is comfortably furnished to a high standard and maintained extremely well.
Our Dumfries and Galloway Location
Our self-catering holiday cottage is in a lovely rural location for those seeking peace and quiet on their holiday, but is also within a few miles of Dumfries, where many excellent amenities are situated. Being on the coast means our cottage is perfectly situated for taking part in many varieties of water sports at the Galloway Sailing Centre, and also taking peaceful cruises along the coast. Further inland, there are many opportunities for other activities like hill walking and mountain biking, with many excellent trails in the surrounding area such as Kirroughtree and Glentrool There is also an abundance of historical sites in the area, for example Caerlaverock Castle and Caerlaverock Wetlands, which show visitors the nature and amazing coastal landscapes every season which is only a few minutes drive away from our cottage. The “Cream o’ Galloway” visitor centre is only a few minutes away, where there is a nature trail, kids play park and ice cream factory. There is also the Galloway Sailing centre for water sports enthusiasts.
For golf enthusiasts there is the nearby Wigtownshire County Golf Course.
