Welcome to our Gîte holiday cottage and bed and breakfast accommodation
Welcome to our domaine Sauvegrain, Chinon, Loire Valley. Our properties have been renovated since 2004 turning what were ruins into a comfortable detached self catering studio (gite) and guest house holiday accommodation. Sauvegrain is the name of our hameau, located peacefully at private and enclosed grounds, comprising 5 acres of land. There are two above ground swimming pools, one with the gîte (this ad) and one with the Sauvegrain picker's house (different ad). Pets are welcome.
Our Loire Valley B&B and holiday cottage facilities
Our gite is a wooden beam construction which dates from the 15th century. It is detached to the house of the owners. It has two storeys and offers plenty of space. On the ground floor it has its own kitchenette and living room which is cosily furnished. On the First floor there is one bathroom and one bedroom. The bedroom has a double divan bed (1.60x2m) and a single (0.8x1.9m) bed. In the living room is a bed bank (1.4x1.9m) available.
The gite has its own entry, parking, terrace with dinner table, BBQ, garden with two sun beds and an above ground pool in the summer.
Our holiday accommodation can be rented on a self catered basis per week (from Saturday's or from Sunday's) or at Chambre D’hotes basis per night including breakfast. A few simple bicycles available.
Our Loire Valley location
Sauvegrain is located in the area of Indre-et-Loire in the Centre region of France. Sauvegrain is 2.5 km away from the vibrant historic town of Chinon. This town is situated on the banks of the River Vienne. Chinon Castle sits high on the hill and is an ideal place to explore and learn about French (and English!) history. The town has many cosy terraced cafes to eat and drink in. We are just over an hour away from Poitiers and Angers and just under and hour from Tours, Saumur, Richelieu.
