The Skye Boat Lodge is a newly built totally bespoke Holiday Home.
We offer our guests luxury TRUE lochside accommodation in Carbost village on the Isle of Skye.
The property has been uniquely designed for its shore position: the timber veranda, that surrounds the house, actually overhangs the sea. Leave a window open - you will feel the sea breeze and hear the waves crashing on the rocks below. The main living area incorporates a large full height glass facade overlooking the Loch. You can watch the ever-changing seascapes and spectacular mountain scenery from the comfort of your sofa or even bed!
The Boat Lodge has 5 bedrooms and can accommodate up to 11 guests. The Master Bedroom has its own bath/shower en-suite, two walk-in wadrobes and an East facing balcony that captures the morning sun over the Cuillins. The main bathroom downstairs has a double power shower and a large whirlpool bath.
We have just installed a wood fired outdoor hot tub made from reclaimed whiskey vat timbers. Hot tub can sit 6-8 people and is 4 feet deep.
There is a private 40 metre timber decked Pontoon leading off a veranda.
The Pontoon can accommodate yachts, although its main use seems to be for recreational purposes: dining out on or having breakfast, fishing, etc. There are 4 lobster pots at the end of the Pontoon, which you are welcome to use if you wish. The pontoon is perfect for just relaxing taking in the scenery and great fun for children. There is abundance of wildlife on your doorstep, such as seals, otters, sea eagles, cormorants, herons and the occasional dolphin.
We provide life jackets of different sizes: for adults, children and infants. The gates to the pontoon and the shore can be locked for kids safety.
Additionally for our guests we can organise the following activities:
- A day in the mountains with a local professional mountain guide
- A day's sailing onboard a traditional 45ft sailing boat. The skipper Sam, would pick you up from the Boat Lodge private pontoon and take around Loch Harport and into the Minch where you can see lots of wildlife and dramatic scenery such as sea cliffs and uninhabited islands etc. He will also encourage you to help in sailing the boat if you wish. All life jackets are provided as well as an onboard lunch.
