Our holiday accommodation location in The Scottish Highlands
Although only a small Highland village, Spean Bridge boasts its own 9 hole golf course plus a fascinating museum dedicated to the Commandos of World War II.
The famous Commando Memorial is located just one mile north of the Smiddy House and provides spectacular views over the ground where the Commandos once trained, across to Aonach Mor and Ben Nevis and beyond.
The Smiddy House is an ideal centre for all outdoor activities, with a further 3 golf courses within easy reach at Fort William, Traigh and Fort Augustus; mountain bike trails at nearby Leanachan Forest as well as Aonach Mor.
Nevis Range Ski Resort at Aonach Mor is only 3 miles away and offers all year round access by cable gondolas for skiing and snowboarding during the winter, and nature walks in the summer months. Further details can be found on the Nevis Range website. Or you could try a cruise along the Caledonian Canal, visit Neptune's Staircase at Corpach and follow the trail of the Loch Ness Monster.
