We can organise wine tasting and chateaux visits !
• Only 45mn from Arcachon and its sand dune on the Atlantic Coast with its marvellous beaches. Ideal for swimming, cycling, water sports such as surfing, kayak, canoe and much more!
• Only 20mn from the historical centre of Bordeaux with its gardens, Cathedral, museums, renovated riverside and much more! We can help you organise your visit!Getting there is no problem, by car or by bus and tram with its excellent public transport!
• For Golfers, we are only 15mn from the Pessac Golf Club and 30mn from the Gujan Golf club. We can book your games for you!!
• Arriving by plane? The airport is only 20mn away: you don’t have a car? Ask us, we do airport pick up and drop off and can organise your car hire locally!
At Sol y Sombra, you have the choice of either a twin room or a double room, both with en-suite shower room and WC. You can sit and relax in our very sunny front room, watch TV (satellite) or leaf through our information on the region at your ease. Myriam will serve you a typical French breakfast of fresh bread, home made jams and home made orange juice.A warm welcome awaits you. Free access to our front garden and terrace. Ample parking.
Alternatively we can offer excellent self catering accommodation in our small but but very well designed two bedroom self catering cottage: twin room, double room, both en suite; fitted kitchen/diner with TV, wifi connection, air conditionning, oven hob, fridge freezer and washing machine. Secluded garden with BBQ.
Sol y Sombra is ideally situated for those wanting to tour the region: Bordeaux and its historical monuments, the coast with its sandy beaches, the famous wine routes all within easy reach.
We are also well located for people on business or training courses at the local University (Talence and Pessac).
Our Bed and Breakfast and Gite are situated opposite a our local park and Woodland. You can walk around at no charge and admire the very varied European fauna (more than 50 different species of birds and mammals). Closeby there is a aquarium ideal for families.
