Soldon Manor is an impressive and exceptionally well appointed 16th Century Manor House set in the rolling North Devon countryside. The house is available for weekly holiday lets throughout the year (Saturday to Saturday) and offers spacious and characterful accommodation for up to fourteen people. in two single rooms and six double bedrooms, some with en suite. Pets are also welcome.
Situated in the North West of Devon, our self catering Holiday Home is only minutes away from the coast, where you can find an abundance of beautiful scenic walks and various water sports, alongside a huge variety of wildlife. The massive walls of the manor house, up to four feet thick in places, give the house a feeling of snug security, even during the wildest winter gales. Soldon Manor provides the perfect base for exploring beautiful north-west coast of Devon and also the north of Cornwall
Our Large Devon Self Catering Accommodation
Our large Manor house in Devon can sleep up to 14 people, in two single and six double rooms, which are all very comfortable and well decorated. When you first arrive at Soldon Manor, you are greeted by a huge front porch and entrance area, flagged with slate and built completely from stone. Through this entrance, you arrive in a fantastic double height Dining room, which has a large table and chairs, enough to sit fourteen people. The dining room has high, oak beamed ceilings, a large fireplace with wood-burning stove, stone-mullioned windows, and a natural slate flagged floor. To one side of the dining room, there is a large oak panelled drawing room with gas effect fire, cushioned seats in the bay windows which look out over the walled and hedged rose and herb garden, and a well maintained Upright piano with a small library of sheet music. Through a concealed door in the panelling of the drawing room is the large kitchen which is equipped with all modern appliances, and also a four-door oil fired Aga. Beyond the kitchen is a family farmhouse-style sitting room with an enormous walk-in open fireplace, now fitted with a huge log-burning stove, and ample seating. A door leads out from the sitting room through a stone, benched porch into the walled rose and herb garden, where guests can relax and eat breakfast for example. Up a fine wooden staircase to the first floor, there are the bedrooms. Upstairs you will find:
- The master bedroom with en suite shower room
- The second bedroom with en suite bathroom with separate shower cubicle
- The third bedroom which has an en suite bathroom with shower over the bath
- The fourth bedroom with en suite shower room
- The fifth and sixth bedrooms which have sinks and shaver points
- The seventh and eighth bedrooms, which are smaller single bedrooms close to the mater bedroom
In addition there is a family bathroom including a separate shower cubicle. Bedrooms one and two have King-size beds, and all the double bedrooms have ample hanging space and drawers. Upstairs rooms have modern radiators.
Outside, the garden offers a series of discreet areas for informal entertaining and relaxing, and the shrub and flower borders are planted for maximum interest throughout the year. Outdoor chess, croquet and bowls and the broad sweeping lawns which are ideal for ball games, make Soldon Manor a perfect holiday home for families with children of all ages.
Our Devon and Cornwall Coast Location
Located six miles north of the market town of Holsworthy and three miles south of the village of Bradworthy, Soldon Manor offers an ideal touring base from which to explore the sandy North Cornish beaches around Bude, spectacular North Devon cliff walks, Dartmoor National Park to the south and Exmoor to the east. The coast is within easy reach about ten miles to the north and west, roughly a twenty minute car ride away.
Less than five hours by car from London, and just one hour from Exeter (London Paddington 2 ½ hours by train) North Devon is a largely undiscovered holiday haven of spectacular coastal scenery and quiet country villages.
North Cornwall and Devon have some of the best swimming and surfing beaches in Britain, along with breath-taking cliff walks and coastal scenery. There are endless opportunities for climbing and hill walking, and many day trips, local activities and historic places to occupy you on your visit. Nearby there are such places to visit as:

- Hartland Point
- Lundy Island
- Bideford
- Holsworthy Woods
