Welcome to Stable Court Holiday Cottage. Our 4 star holiday cottage is located in a beautiful rural setting near Barnard Castle and Middleton in Teesdale, and offers luxurious self catering accommodation for 7 to 8 people. If you're looking for a Holiday Home which combines country living, absolute peace and tranquility, fabulous scenery and an incomparable sense of history this Stable Court is the place!
The 4 star self catering cottage, which sleeps 7/8, is suitable for a wheelchair but with restriction to the use of the ground floor bedroom, shower room and dining room only.
This property is set high on a hillside overlooking the Tees Valley, an area of outstanding beauty long known as the Secret Dale. A holiday here can be as active or as peaceful as you wish.
The Holiday Cottage
Stable Court is a Grade II listed property and is close to another historic property once reputed to have been used by King James II in the days when the surrounding area was a deer forest.
The Estate is thought to have belonged to Richard III and given to Miles Forrest for his alleged part in the murder of the Princes in the Tower.
All fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included in the rental. A cot and high chair are provided. The garden is enclosed and has garden furniture and barbeque. Separate Utility Room and Lockable Store Shed.

Holiday Accommodation Details
This spacious accommodation which sleeps 7 to 8 people comprises the original stone flagged hallway leading to kitchen / breakfast room.
Also on the ground floor are the dining room with original stone Inglenook fireplace and beamed ceilings and twin bedroom with en-suite shower room.
Upstairs are the master family bedroom, which has an antique king-sized brass and iron bedstead and single bed (and further single bed) to accommodate an 8th person and en-suite luxury bathroom, the Teesdale bedroom which boasts a four-poster bed fully restored and en-suite shower room and the lounge, which has a large, open fire and colour TV. All bedrooms are en-suite.
The Local Area
The holiday cottage is well served with things to do and local attractions. As well as excellent grocery shops, pubs and restaurants, the towns of Barnard Castle and Middleton-in-Teesdale can cater for all your holiday requirements.
The cottage has easy access to lovely walks direct from the property to the picturesque villages of Cotherstone and Eggleston, both offering pubs, shop and Post Office.
There are countless hiking possibilities during the summer and ideal skiing slopes during the winter as well as fishing, sports centre with swimming bath, pony trekking and a very good 18-hole golf course at Barnard Castle (4 miles).
Our cottage is close to the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District and the Scottish Borders, and other attractions within easy reach include The Bowes Museum, one of the world's greatest treasure houses, High Force, Britain's most beautiful and spectacular waterfall, Raby Castle, Seat of Lord Barnard, the owner of thousands of acres in Teesdale, and the Beamish Open Air Museum, which recreates life as it was in former times.
We are also close to Durham and York, with their many and varied attractions, including Durham Cathedral, Burial place of Bede and Cuthbert, and the Jorvik Viking Centre at York. We are also close to beautiful Northumberland, with its many natural attractions, including the Kielder nature reserve, and of course Hadrian's Wall. Northumberland is also home to many wonderful visitor attractions, including Alnwick Garden, and the Northumberland Coast has an 80-mile long stretch of beautiful coastline between the River Tyne and the River Tweed .
