Welcome to our Large Holiday Cottage in Northumberland

The Dovecot is a stunning 5 star self catering holiday property sleeping 8 people (10 if guests choose to use the sofa bed in the games room - suitable for kids).  The holiday cottage is in a beautiful rural location near Wooler in Northumberland, overlooking the tennis court and the Cheviot Hills. It is a wonderful place for a family holiday, and pets and dogs are welcome.

Our 5 Star Luxury Self Catering Facilities

The cottage has 2 double bedrooms with ensuite shower room and two twin rooms (one with a power shower over bath and the other a large walk in shower room) – providing self catering for eight people. The Dining/ Living area has a large seating area in front of the wood burner and dining table which leads on to the kitchen. Doors lead out to the patio and large, enclosed, private garden where more table and chairs are situated. The kitchen has a large breakfast bar, range cooker and doors out to the patio and garden. There is a large games room with ping pong table, tv/dvd, sofa, bean bag and floor cushions, doors to garden.

Set in the grounds of the Farm House, The Dovecot over looks the tennis court and Cheviot Hills. At the back of the cottage it shares a courtyard of tables and chairs with The Smithy (sleeps 2).

Our Northumberland Location

Turvelaws is a working farm and is set in the Glendale Valley 1/2 a mile from the attractive market town of Wooler, in Norhumberland and is over looked by the Cheviot Hills. It is perfectly situated to reach the Hills and surrounding countryside. The Scottish Borders are only 12 miles away and the heritage coast of Northumberland with it's miles of sandy beaches is 1/2 an hours drive. The historical towns of Berwick Upon Tweed and Alnwick (Castles and Gardens ) are within a 16 mile radius from Turvelaws. Lindisfarne and the Farne Islands are all within easy reach.

Activities at our Holiday Cottage

We have a tennis court here at the Farm House which guests are welcome to use and there is fishing on the River Till. Wooler has a local 9 hole/18 tee golf course which is 2 miles from the cottages and Sustrans cycle track is only 1 mile away.  There are 3 equestrian centres within a 12 mile radius of Turvelaws.
