Welcome to our 4 star self catering accommodation in Spean Bridge. Located in the heart of Spean Bridge village, our cottage is ideally located for touring the west coast of Scotland with many attractions nearby. For example the Jacobite steam train as used in Harry Potter films, Loch Ness, Ben Nevis, Commando memorial, etc
Our self catering cottage features and accommodation
The Old Smiddy lies adjacent to the Smiddy House and Russell's, our restaurant, and provides luxury self catering accommodation for 4 guests comfortably but can take 6. The bedrooms include 1 double room on the ground floor, with 4 single beds on the open plan, upper level. The kitchen is fitted out in solid wood with stainless steel appliances, and includes a washer/dryer, fridge, and freezer. The bathroom comprising toilet and electric shower is located adjacent to the double bedroom.
The open plan dining room/lounge provides for cosy, relaxing evenings around the traditional fire, with the extra facility of video and DVD player. A second TV upstairs ensures that even with the whole family there is plenty of space for peace and tranquility.
The accommodation comes with central heating plus ample private car parking to the rear.
Guests have the option of catering for themselves, whilst taking advantage of the excellent food at Russell’s before retiring to the privacy of their own holiday lodging.

Although only a small Highland village, Spean Bridge boasts its own 9 hole golf course plus a fascinating museum dedicated to the Commandos of World War II.
The famous Commando Memorial is located just one mile north of the Smiddy House and provides spectacular views over the ground where the Commandos once trained, across to Aonach Mor and Ben Nevis and beyond.
The Smiddy House is an ideal centre for all outdoor activities, with a further 3 golf courses within easy reach at Fort William, Traigh and Fort Augustus; mountain bike trails at nearby Leanachan Forest as well as Aonach Mor.
Nevis Range Ski Resort at Aonach Mor is only 3 miles away and offers all year round access by cable gondolas for skiing and snowboarding during the winter, and nature walks in the summer months. Further details can be found on the Nevis Range website. Or you could try a cruise along the Caledonian Canal, visit Neptune's Staircase at Corpach and follow the trail of the Loch Ness Monster.
