Welcome to our Luxury Cottage in East Sussex
Our cottage has a large entrance hall and stairs leads to a galleried landing . The spacious open plan living room is furnished with comfortable sofas and chairs. There is a colour television, video, and audio system. Full width glass doors open onto the south-facing balcony furnished with table and chairs. The dining room is open plan with dining table and chairs adjacent to a fully fitted kitchen .
There are two bedrooms: a spacious double bedroom with large en-suite bathroom fitted with bath, separate shower cubical, hand basin and WC. The second bedroom is arranged as a twin, with a separate shower room with hand basin and WC.
A laundry room is available for guest use on request. There is a private area of lawn with garden seating, table and chairs and a barbecue for guest use.
Location
Situated on a hilltop, 800 feet above sea level, the area is one of the highest points in the South East. The Riding is located at the end of a private road facing South over open countryside, with distant views of the Downs stretching from Newhaven to Beachy Head, yet it is only a few minutes drive from the town of Crowborough – home of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle of Sherlock Holmes fame. The Riding is within easy access of Gatwick Airport (17 miles) and there are mainline trains to London from Tunbridge Wells, Haywards Heath, and Gatwick.
Things to Do
Crowborough has a good selection of shops, restaurants and pubs, and indoor swimming at the Goldsmith Leisure Centre. Golfers will find Crowborough Golf club within easy walking distance. The Ashdown forest with its Winnie the Pooh connection is only two miles away. Enjoy the Ashdown Forest and the surrounding countryside either on foot, by bicycle, or by organised horse riding. The spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells is 8 miles away, Uckfield 8 miles and the village of Rotherfield with its antique shops only 3 miles. Places of interest within a short car journey: Hever Castle, Penshurst Place, Bateman’s, Groombridge Place, Michelham Priory, and Sheffield Park Gardens adjacent to the Bluebell Railway. Drusillas Park, Alfriston and Bentley Wildfowl and Motor Museum, Halland. The popular coastal towns of Eastbourne and Brighton (23 miles) have excellent theatres and the internationally acclaimed Glynbourne Opera House is only 15 miles away.
