Welcome to our Hostel in Cumbria
The Hostel has been refurbished and is under new ownership. We actively encourage individuals and groups to come and stay to make the most of all the local attractions.
Our Cumbria Accommodation
The Walkers Hostel is the only Independent Hostel in the Furness area to provide CLEAN, comfortable and centrally heated accommodation for up to 30 people. We currently have 4 rooms with between 2 and 8 beds to a room. Bedding is included and there are separate male and female shower rooms. From the middle of May 2009 we will have 2 additional rooms.
Our Cumbria Location
We are within easy distance of all the major Lake-District tourist attractions as well as some of the most popular walks including the “Cumbria Way” which starts in Ulverston and finishes in Carlisle. The Hostel works closely with local businesses to provide a range of services and activities that will make your stay in Ulverston a time to remember. Take a glider flight over the stunning Lake District scenery or canoe down one of our many rivers.
The Cumbia Trail can be followed in either direction, but most people tend to start in Ulverston. The Cumbria Way is about 70 miles/113 km long. Typically it takes five or six days to complete the journey, covering an average distance of about 14 miles / 22.5 km a day.
We now offer a dedicated baggage transfer service along the Cumbria Way route ( £ 8.00 a bag ) and a park and pick up service from the hostel. Leave your car with us for £ 2.00 a night or £ 10.00 for a week and we will pick you up from Carlisle for only £ 35.00 per person and return you to your car.
