Agnes’s Cottage is named after Prioress Agnes who ruled the Priory C1184. It is a charming open plan ground floor cottage consisting of a kitchen /dining and lounge. There are 2 bedrooms; one double and one single and bathroom with shower. The sunny french windows open to stunning views across the fields and into a private garden area. From the cottage you have access to a communal Cloisters Garden where you can walk or sit and relax whilst you view the magnificent original 12 century Priory. There is plenty of parking and pets are more than welcome.

It is an unusual feature of each of the cottages that they are themed in different styles. They feature the best from home and Europe. Agnes’s Cottage has furniture, soft furnishings and accessories from scotland including tartans and soft fabrics from the highlands – a very cosy cottage to come home to.

All 7 cottages are in a court yard style around Syningthwaite Proiory itsself.  Priory self-catering holiday cottages are named as such because of their close proximity to Syningthwaite Priory and are owned by the Rawlings family who have farmed the area since the grandfather of the present David Rawlings rented it from Lord Hawk in 1920. Consequently he bought the Farm including the 12C Priory in 1948 and over a period of time his family did live in the Priory itself.
