Aird Steading Cottage was renovated in Summer 2007 to offer spacious, luxury five-star accommodation for 2 people. Aird Steading Cottage is a self-catering holiday cottage situated three miles from the village of Ardfern, between Oban and Lochgilphead, Argyll amongst some of the most stunning scenery in Scotland.   This luxury self catering cottage is part of Aird Farm which is a traditional hill farm at the end of Craignish Peninsula with spectacular views to the Paps of Jura, with a view of the Straits of Corryvreckan the well known whirlpool between the islands of Jura and Scarba; and the mountains of Mull provide a magnificent backdrop to the islands of Luing and Lunga. The cottage offers relaxation or a romantic break in a breathtaking area of the West coast of Argyll.

Our Luxury Self Catering Holiday Cottage’s Accommodation and Features

Our luxury self-catering holiday cottage sleeps up to two people in a double bedroom with large double bed, ample storage space and a window seat with excellent views top Loch Craignish and west to the Isle of Mull. The bathroom is very well decorated and has a toilet, sink and Jacuzzi bath with over bath power shower. The lounge is spacious and airy, and has ample seating, a television, dvd and CD players, small library, an open fire and excellent views west to the islands from the window. The kitchen/dining area is full of light and character, fully fitted with all modern appliances, and has a dining table with plenty of seating. There is tiled under floor heating in most of the cottage, and a large private patio area where you can relax on the garden furniture in the sun on warm days.

Our Luxury Self Catering Holiday Cottage’s Location in Ardfern

Our holiday cottage is in a very rural area of the highlands of Scotland, but still had good road links, so we are within a short drive from all the best local amenities. There are such sporting and leisure activities in the area as Ardfern Riding Centre, Craignish Cruises, Ardfern Yacht Centre and many other places where you can go fishing, cycling, walking, climbing and mountain biking, or take part in water sports such as windsurfing and sailing, among others. For some exciting places to eat, you could try Galley of Lorne in Ardfern, Lord of Isles in Craobh Haven, the Water Front Bistro in Oban, or any of the other excellent pubs, restaurants and cafés in the area. Our Self Catering Holiday Cottage is in close proximity to such attractions as Arduaine Gardens, Inverary Jail, Kilmartin Museum, and Sealife Adventures, where you can see many different species of exotic and local fish in an exciting, child friendly environment.
