Cottage Location on the Isle of Skye in the Highlands of Scotland
Our holiday cottage is located near Sligachan, in the centre of the Isle of Skye, in the West Highlands of Scotland. Our photo gallery above and our own website show the breath taking location of the cottage nestling under the Cuillin Hills. A perfect cottage for walkers and climbers, a honeymoon or as a base for a family holiday exploring the mystery, beauty and history of Skye.
The Sligachan Hotel is about ½ a mile from the cottage, serving food and drink daily from 1st March to 1st November. As well as shops and restaurants in Portree and Broadford, Carbost has a small shop and Inn with good food and, often, live music on a Friday night.
In addition to walking and climbing, there are many great things to do near the cottage, including botanising, enjoying the nearby sandy beaches at Glenbrittle, Fiscavaig and Talisker. Golf is available at a 9 hole course in Sconser about 3 miles away. For swimming - the burn by the cottage has some lovely pools, and the Sligachan river some larger ones. The sea is never far away, but if you long for chlorine and warmth then Portree has a new and excellent public swimming pool. Fishing - in season river, loch and sea fishing are available locally (please ask us for details). There are also a great range of Boat Trips available from a number of places, including Broadford, Portree, Dunvegan and into Loch Coruisk from Elgol (highly recommended for those who don't want to brave the walk!) Wildlife of every sort is ‘just there’ and all over Skye to be enjoyed.
Price
Prices are very variable and depend on numbers and whether you are a family, individuals etc. as well as season.
