In June 1897 the Station Hotel opened its doors to the public. Built on a site opposite the Railway Station it was a fore-runner of its time including such modern convieniences as electric lights a passenger lift and heating which was ventilated mechanically to all rooms via flues and upwards to the central tower a wee known landmark in Dumfries.Through its ownership by the railways the hotel built up a reputation locally and was County set it being the place to be seen.We have ample car parking on sitefree to residents and Hotel users. The main business shopping and nightlife areas are only 5 minutes away in the town of Dumfries.
