A two double-bedded cottage with separate lounge and dining room, well-equipped kitchen and family bathroom, Bourne View is the ideal holiday cottage for that weekend away or a family holiday. Situated in a quiet maze of lanes in the heart of the village of Porlock, the cottage is within a stone's throw of the shops, pubs and restaurants and a short drive to the local beaches. Heated throughout, with an open fire in the lounge for the cooler times of year, the cottage also boasts a large flatscreen tv with dvd (and a selection of dvd's to play), childrens' books and games and two comfy leather sofas to sprawl on in the evening.
There is a welcome pack of essentials such as milk, bread, cereal, coffee and tea for stays of a week or more, all linen and towels are provided (excluding beach towels), there is no charge for electricity and, if you needed more convincing, pets are accepted free of charge (but downstairs, please, as the are is a doggy walking paradise, but they do tend to bring it back in with them !).
The area has a variety of wildlife, from deer and Exmoor ponies to a number of birds of prey (the valley behind the village is aptly called the Hawkcombe), a number of National Trust properties to visit, rugged coastline and beautiful wooded valleys and moorland. Bikes can be hired locally and there are a number of good stables in the area. Please browse our website for details of local events, attractions and restaurants.
If there is something in particular that you would like to do on your holiday, please contact Don Fitzgerald who will be happy to advise and help you with anything that will make your stay a more pleasant one. You are on holiday, after all.
