Our location is uniquie - a unspoilt wooded valley opening onto a safe sandy beach with stunning sea views of the famous Plymouth Breakwater and Cornish coast. Our Luxury Holiday Accommodation
The charming country house was for many years the home to Joseph Whidbey, the Superintendent Engineer of the great Plymouth Breakwater. Generations of guests have enjoyed the peace and tranquillity and appreciate the quality environment, which has made their stay memorable and special. The Estate comprises of the Country House, home to the current owners and three Heritage Apartments, all set within a small select Beachside Holiday Park.
Bovisand Lodge Heritage Apartments will appeal to visitors with a love for places of historical interest. The wing of the Grade 2 Country House has been meticulously converted into three luxury self catering apartments, every detail has been carefully considered from under floor heating & deep comfortable sofas to invigorating power showers. The apartments bring together the stature of a country house with modern state of the art living.
Each apartment has its own individual terrace with stylish garden furniture and bbq area where you can enjoy an ‘al fresco’ meal at its best.

Rennie - 2 bedrooms -sleeps 4. A stunning top floor luxury apartment with sea views. Open plan living with shaker style kitchen with integrated appliances, high, vaulted beamed ceiling. 2 bedrooms (king size double, 4ft double) and a double sofa bed in the living room. There is a sumptuous shower room and individual terrace with sunset views and BBQ.
Whidbey - 2 bedrooms -sleeps 3. Contemporary first floor apartment with sea views. Open plan living with contemporary art, shaker style kitchen with integrated appliances. Designer feature ceiling with recessed lighting. It has 2 bedrooms (king size double, 3ft single) and double sofa bed in living room. State of the art shower room. There is an individual terrace with BBQ.
Rodney - 1 bedroom - Sleeps 2. Romantic, ground floor apartment with shower for 2! Open plan living with woodburner effect fire for cosy evenings, light oak integrated kitchen. Double bedroom with king size bed and a sofa bed in the living room. Contemporary shower room; especially for two! There is an individual terrace with BBQ.
Please note that we are unable to accept young children under 5 years of age or pets (official guide dogs accepted subject to availability and by prior arrangement) and there is a non smoking policy within the apartments.
Indoor heated Swimming Pool
All guests have use of the magnificent indoor heated swimming pool which is open year round. They also have use of the magnificent grounds of the estate.
Our Location on the South Devon Coast
The heritage apartments are located 7 miles from Plymouth, on the south coast of Devon, in south west England. Bovisand Lodge Estate is situated in an unspoilt wooded valley running down from the hills of Staddon Heights the grounds open onto a safe sandy beach facing Plymouth Breakwater and the Cornish coast, yet is only seven miles from Plymouth.
Bovisand is set in a quiet, secluded location adjacent to the coastal path where you can relax and enjoy easy walks with breathtaking views or play golf at the nearby Staddon Heights course.

Early and late season weekend breaks. Prices quoted are per week. Please note we do accept short breaks out of school holidays. We offer weekend breaks - (Friday - Monday), and midweek breaks (Monday - Friday) 4 nights for the price of 3!
