Camping de Maillac is situated 10 minutes from Sarlat, which is very picturesque, medieval town.
We are situated very centrally for visits to places of interest in the area. As weel as many chateaux and gardens, and a country market in one village or another on every day, you can visit the world-famous Lascaux caves, the medieval pilgrimage town of Rocamadour, caves at Padirac and Proumeyssac, and the prehistory museum at Les Eyzies, to name but a few. If you prefer, you can take advantage of the glorious countryside around Camping de Maillac where footpaths are well marked for walkers and you can go fishing or horse riding.
We have sufficient facilities on the camp site so you will not have to go far for food, drink and entertainment. The large, modern swimming pool, alongside a generous paddling pool, means that all the family can spend an enjoyable afternoon in the water or sunbathing. You can even try our jacuzzi and sauna! Our bar is open all day and in the evening. A small shop sells basic groceries, including fresh bread and croissants each morning. Our snack-restaurant provides a variety of meals, to eat in or to take away. Other facilities include a phone box, internet access and a wifi zone, tennis, table-tennis, mini-golf, pool, table-football and television.
Many special events take place at Camping de Maillac. Each week in the summer, there is a themed evening with a meal and entertainment from a band. Our weekly petanque competition is enjoyable whatever your standard of play. We organise a canoeing trip on the River Dordogne and a bus to take you to the Saturday market in Sarlat. There is always something going on at Camping de Maillac to help you make the most of your holiday.
The camp site has 174 pitches, some completely shaded, but all with trees to provide shelter from the sun. All our pitches are a generous size. We also have some chalets, mobile homes and studio apartments. There are two blocks of facilities and our showers are always hot! We provide a washing machine and tumble dryer. A special area for camping-cars, with electricity and drainage (Euro-Relais), means we can cater for them all year round.
Camping de Maillac is typically French. Many of our guests are French families who return year after year to meet old friends and to enjoy activities together. Each year, we are also pleased to welcome guests from the UK and other European Countries. We find they particularly enjoy the very French flavour of a holiday at Camping de Maillac.
