Casa Margarita is a lovely spacious 3 bedroom villa situated in a pleasant rural location surrounded by citrus growing fields - between Messines and the small idyllic visitors town of Alte. The house has been sympathetically renovated from an old farmhouse in a rustic style with high wood beamed ceilings keeping it cool and airy in the hotter months. The villa has its own private swimming pool 8m x 4m with a graduated depth of 95cm - 1.85m accessed by roman steps, surrounded by a lawned area . The garden is secure with a gate and surrounded by a stone wall making for a good degree of privacy
Messines is a traditional portugese market town with a good choice of shops and amenities including a large supermarket and a variety of cafes and restaurants to suit everyone. Messines also holds a daily food market. where the local farmers sell their produce, together with fresh fish stalls, where you can buy your freshly caught sardines for the bbq! The historic town of Silves is approx 15minutes drive where you will find both old and modern shops and restaurants side by side There is the ancient castle to explore and the river. If you find yourself there in August you will be able to spend a fabulous evening at the annual weeklong Silves Medieval festival, where you can experience a taste of portugal of old with its strong African influence. There are stalls selling everything from food to handcrafts.
There are many beaches within 20 minutes drive, including the very popular town of Albufeira which meets all the needs of a more traditional tourist - lots of english bars and restaurants, alongside Portugese. There is an english bookshop if you run out of reading material for by the pool! The famous 'Strip' comes alive at night with a huge variety of nightlife.
There is a welcome pack provided along with our villa manager who will meet you initially for any queries you may have and who is at the end of the phone if you have any concerns.
There is a library of things to do including walks, cycling routes and places to see, most of which we've personally recommended ourselves together with a list of our own favourite portugese restaurants.

Faro airport is approx 35 minutes drive from casa margarita.
The lounge/dining area is very spacious with large patio doors leading out to the poolside There is a lovely log burner and underfloor and central heating throughout, making it a cosy place to stay during the popular spring and autumn months when the algarve is ideal for walking and cycling holidays.The kitchen comprises; - gas cooker/oven, washing machine, fridge freezer and seperate fridge for drinks, coffee machine, toaster and microwave and is furnished with a good range of cooking utensils. Casa margarita has three bedrooms each with an electric fan (although the algarve nights always seem to have a cooling breeze!) - 2 bedrooms downstairs with a shower/toilet room and 1 bedroom upstairs with an en-suite bathroom comprising of a luxurious corner bath and seperate shower - ideal for seperate couples or family as there is an element of privacy between the large upstairs gallery where you can relax and look out over the citrus groves, and the downstairs living area.
There is a large bbq outside(for those sardines!) and various pool toys, together with a couple of bikes suitable for exploring the country lanes.
