Welcome to Cortijo Fortuna B&B
Our home is sympathetically restored Andalucian farmhouse, retaining many of it's original features, including terracotta floors, beamed ceilings and wonky 2 foot thick walls.
Situated at the end of a beautiful valley in the Sierra de los Filabres, surrounded by mountains in 15.000 sq metres of land with private garden, orange grove, olives, almonds, figs, grape vines and pomegranets.
The property boasts many outside areas suitable for alfresco eating or just relaxing. We like to serve breakfast on the roof- terrace, so our guests can appreciate the views and our many feathered visitors. The courtyard is ideal for night time eating as is the outside moorish style dining room.
We have two much loved dogs, cats, our neighbour has chickens, and we often get a visit by Jose Pepe and his goats, along with the odd night time visit by a family of wild boar.
Cortijo Fortuna is about 50mins from the beach resorts of Mojacar and San Juan de los Terreros. Also within easy reach of 3 Golf courses and 2 Riding stables.
We are within 1 hours drive of the Lakes at Baza and the Observatory at Calar Alto (2.300 metres above sea level)
Art lessons are available from a local well known artist.
For runners we have both road and mountain routes and can be accompanied by Terry an accomplished veteran.
Guided walks/rambles available, taking in the history of the region.
The guest accommodation comprises a very spacious lounge with bathroom and two bedrooms adjacent. One double and one family bedroom boasting a Superking bed ( 6'x6'6" ).
We have a woodburning stove & air conditioning
