Steeped in Reivers history the village is a perfect base to spend a few days looking up ancient sites and historic castles. Hadrians Wall, Kielder Water and Forest Park and the Northumberland National Park are all about only 30 minutes drive away.
Newcastleton hosts one of the world class 7stanes mountains bike trails. Bike hire, helmets etc avilable from Rock UK or bring your own the house has a secure lock up and wash facility.
The village boasts a challenigng nine hole golf course - pay before you play on an honesty basis please. There are never any queues! You cna also fish the Liddle & Esk in season for brown trout or salmon. Permits are required.
