Welcome to our Luxury Pet Friendly Holiday Cottage in Scotland

Welcome to East Lodge, our luxurious loch side self catering holiday accommodation near Loch Lomond in central Scotland. This is truly a place to relax and to get away from it all.  Just sit on the deck, or take the steps down to your own beach and observe the continuously changing colours on the Loch. The cottage sleeps 6 people and pets and dogs are very welcome. The cottage is in a wonderful location with its own beach, ideal for  fishing, sailing and watersports and in a superb location for walking and cycling.

Spectacular sunsets will be your daily treat, enhanced by the flight of the ospreys, golden eagles and other spectacular wildlife.  For the Twichers there is a rich variety of bird life, both woodland and aquatic and you’ll catch deer and owls in your headlights after dark, (so drive slowly).  For those who like to stargaze there is no light pollution.

Our Cottage Location in the Loch Lomond National Park

Situated within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, your lochside cottage is in an area of outstanding beauty and enjoys fishing rights to the Loch,  (seatrout, brown trout, rainbow trout and salmon, pike, etc).  Cast a line from your own beach or just read a book, you will not be disturbed by anything.

Bring your bicycles, the tracks start at your front door and give you access to a vast network of on and off road cycle tracks.   If you don’t have room to bring them you can hire them from just along the road. 

If you like to watch sailing, the Loch Venachar Sailing Club is nearby and they sail on the Loch from time to time. The do offer courses for non-members.  Please contact them for more details.

Fancy learning to do a bit more in the kitchen?  Why not book yourself or loved one onto a course at the famous Nick Nairn Cook School.

If walking’s your thing, you have access from your front door to gentle walks along the Loch, or to more challenging hikes through the hills to neighbouring villages.

5 minutes by car takes you into the picturesque village of Callander where you will find a bustling High Street full of fantastic shops, cafes and restaurants.  You can also go for a swim in the local pool, or for a fantastic fun day out take a drive round to the David Marshall Lodge and “Go Ape”.  From Loch Katrine you can take the paddle steamer around the Loch or take a trip to Balquhidder to see Rob Roy’s grave followed by something to eat at the exquisite Monachyle Mhor.  If you fancy yourself in a wetsuit doing a bit of 'Total Wipeout', "Go Country" is just a 15 minute or so drive away.  There are some excellent golf courses with stunning views nearby and, of course, pony trekking.

There is simply SO much to do in this incredible place - it is the ultimate holiday spot.  The ideal holiday cottage for exploring Perthshire, Stirlingshire, Loch Lomond and the whole of central Scotland. We know you’ll love it as much as we do.  It's also pet friendly and totally secluded.

Our Luxury Loch Side Holiday Accommodation

Our holiday cottage sleeps 6 people, with 2 good bedrooms and a bed settee in the lounge. The 100 year old Lodge itself has been recently renovated and is beautifully appointed.   It is clean and light – truly a breath of fresh air.  It has been tastefully furnished and the kitchen is very well equipped by people who love to cook.

Brush up on your board game skills chosing from one of the many available.  We have Satellite TV and there is also a comprehensive range of DVDs.  There is an iPod docking station, cd player and radio as well as loads of books.

In summary the holiday accommodation includes:

Living room: A very comfortable room with 2 setees, one opens up into a large double bed, with views through the French Doors over the Loch.  Get cosy and light the antique French woodburning stove.  Sit back and just relax. The room has direct access to the deck with the staircase down to the beach.

The Kitchen: Everything is there with enough crockery and cutlery to feed an army.  There is a  dishwasher, microwave/grill, cooker with double gas ovens and hobs, fridge, toaster, kettle and lots of very handy kitchen utensils. 

The Dining Room: Adjacent to the open plan kitchen is the dining area comprising a beautiful large table that will comfortably sit 8 people.  With its wonderful views of the Loch and Ben Ledi it is the perfect place to read your paper with your morning coffee, or relax with a glass of wine.

The Bathroom with Shower: The bathroom is brand new and is equipped with a bath, shower, sink, toilet and towel rail. Plenty of room to hang your towels and a shelving unit for all your toiletries.

The Master Bedroom: A beautiful room with a king size double bed, large wardrobe and dressing table with mirror.  Situated on the forest side of the house, you’re guaranteed a good night’s sleep, (owls permitting).

The Second Bedroom:Also situated on the forest side of the house, comprises 2 single beds and a wardrobe.

The utitlity room: A  great room to come into after a walk on the beach, the forest or after a cycle.  Simply throw wet or dirty clothes into the washing machine or stick them into the tumble dryer. The beer fridge is also situated here ideal for storing drinks.

The Deck: The deck allows you to walk along the lochside of the entire house, 3 meters above the beach below, guaranteed great views wherever you look.  Have breakfast, lunch and dinner on the deck or picnic on the beach.
