The cottage has two bedrooms – a double and a twin – and sleeps up to four people although it is particularly popular with couples. Many of our guests return year after year. There is a cosy sitting room with a stone fireplace and open fire. We provide you with an initial supply of logs and coal free of charge. Next door there is a dining kitchen with access to the cellar. Enjoy the fabulous views from the window while you’re washing-up! The small bathroom is upstairs, with bath, shower (over bath), toilet and hand-basin. We can supply you with a travel cot (which fits in the double bedroom) and a high-chair on request.
Outside there is a private garden with furniture and barbecue. Please note that there are 7 steps to the main garden area. There is parking for 2 cars.
Foxglove Cottage is on a private lane with fabulous views towards Hardwick Hall – owned by the National Trust and well-worth visiting. While you’re here, why not try one of the many walks from the doorstep around this beautiful area. We provide you with a range of bespoke walks to try. We recommend you walk the half mile to the Ashover Rock (known locally as The Fabrick), take a picnic and enjoy panoramic views across five counties. If you enjoy horse riding or want to learn, there is a riding school within 200 metres. Or you could just relax in the garden or curl up in front of a roaring log fire – you choose!
You are welcome to bring one well-behaved pet to stay with you in Foxglove Cottage, at no extra charge.
Columbine Cottage - sleeps 6
We have a second cottage (Columbine Cottage) which is next door to Foxglove. It is a bit bigger, with three bedrooms sleeping up to six people, and it also has a separate dining room. If you are looking for accommodation in 5 bedrooms to sleep up to 10 people for a get-together with family or friends why not book both cottages together? You can find full details on our website - see button above.
