Welcome to our Large Lodge in the Highlands
Glencanisp Lodge is available for large groups, as self catering accommodation, or optionally with catering provided by our excellent local caterer, at a very reasonable price.
The property is a Victorian hunting lodge, now owned by the Assynt community along with the surrounding 44,000 acre estate. It is situated a short drive from the village of Lochinver, where there are shops, bank, leisure centre, visitor's centre etc. The lodge is in the midst of stunningly beautiful highland scenery, with a large loch just down the front lawn, upon which kayaking and rowing boat are available, and fly-fishing rod and reel hire available for trout and salmon fishing. Deer stalking is may also be available on the estate in season. The Lodge is the closest available accommodation to the iconic mountain Suilven, a mountain recently featured on a number of television programmes. Suilven dominates the views from Glencanisp Lodge, and a path leads to the base of the mountain from just outside the lodge.
Glencanisp Lodge is a perfect retreat for groups of friends and family, walking, climbing, fishing or deerstalking groups, as a venue for corporate / business groups, and for weddings.
Features in the lodge include upright piano, range cooker (with conventional gas hobbed cooker also), and one open fire and two wood burning stoves. There are 10 bedrooms that may be had as either double or twin (5 are ensuite) with two additional bunk bedded rooms. WiFi is available on request.
Within a short drive there are many sandy beaches, pubs and places to eat, and beautiful walks.
