The secluded south-facing garden has uninterrupted stunning views of Coppet Hill which is a nature reserve and has interesting flora and fauna with many footpaths. From here one can see the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains beyond, whilst listening to the buzzards flying overhead and possibly spotting a Peregrine falcon that nests at Symonds Yat. The house is within walking distance of the meandering river Wye and the famous Wye Valley Walk. Joshua Cristall, a famous Victorian water colour artist, once lived here and the area continues to be a magnet for artists. Fishing and hiring canoes can be booked locally as can horse riding, golf and tennis.
Goodrich village boasts its own Castle that was the last to fall to Oliver Cromwell. There are two excellent pubs serving good food and a village post office and general store.
