Grisedale Cottage is a traditional 18th century Lakeland cottage which now provides charming and comfortable self catering holiday accommodation in the Ullswater valley for up to five people.
The cottage has a cosy lounge with multi-fuel stove; a modern, well equipped kitchen; a lovely conservatory with comfy chairs and a dining table and chairs; a ground floor double bedroom with en-suite toilet; a twin bedroom and single bedroom on the first floor; a bathroom with bath and shower; a sauna with shower for relaxing in after a long day on the fells. At the back of the cottage there is a private, enclosed garden with garden furniture. There is dedicated parking for one car; second car by arrangement.
Our holiday cottage is situated in a small community of cottages at Grisedale Bridge, midway between the villages of Glenridding and Patterdale. A lovely, quiet location, with village shops, pubs, cafes, medical centre, local post office, garage and petrol station and an internet cafe all within walking distance.
From the cottage door you can walk, cycle or climb the surrounding majestic fells without moving your car ... Helvellyn, Fairfield, St Sunday Crag and the High Street range all offer a challenging day out and there are numerous valley and woodland walks as well as the lakeshore path along Ullswater. Ullswater lake is only 10 minutes' walk away and you can take a trip on one of the Ullwater Steamers, hire a motor boat or rowing boat or have a go at sailing or canoeing. Or you can just relax in the garden or in the conservatory and enjoy the wonderful Lakeland scenery.
Grisedale Cottage's idyllic location in the Ullswater valley means that you can enjoy inspiring mountain views, glimpses of the lake and real peace and quiet.
