Want a safari style holiday but what about airport security queues, the long haul flights and the jet lag! You get there and suddenly it’s all worthwhile but getting there and the threat of cancelled flights! Pack up your troubles, ” c’mon get happy”, sounds good but singing a song, dancing around the bedroom and throwing a few items in to an open suitcase isn’t quite so easy and getting away from those demons of responsibility is usually far, far away.
So we thought go right back to one of the holiday wonderments from childhood. Camping. This isn’t just any camping, this is camping with whistles and bells on, king size large beds, bath robes, huge bathrooms with free standing baths and a private terrace hot tub (actually, we made-up the whistles and bells bit). The canvas lodges, as inspired by our African trips, are a camping model firmly focused on luxury.
This is camping for adults who want to unfurl and unwind and be able to sleep like babes in arms. In a quiet corner of North Wales our canvas lodges offer more than the experience of sleeping somewhere unusual and almost under the stars. There is no cooking involved and any swimming is in a pool in the walled garden. Though these are safari tents where grown-up kids can spend a night, or two or three under canvas, the only lions and giraffes around will be part of the decor, however the surrounding parkland and hills are extensive enough to showcase the beauty of this part of Wales.
