Welcome to our 4 star Windermere B&B
Welcome to Kenilworth Guest House. Our Windermere bed and breakfast was built in 1896 and is a grand Victorian 4 star (Visit Britain) Guest House offering a warm and welcoming base from which to explore the Lake District. Many period features have been retained, such as the tiled floor and stained glass in the entrance porch and the grand open pitch pine staircase. However, under our ownership the house has been fully redecorated and refurbished to offer very warm and welcoming bed and breakfast accommodation.

Our 4 star B&B Facilities
All of our six guest bedrooms are en-suite and we can now offer a superior spacious king-size double bedroom with comfortable leather armchairs. All rooms are centrally-heated and fully double-glazed, and the bedrooms are provided with flat screen digital colour television, refreshment tray, fluffy towels, hairdryer, alarm clock and wineglasses. Our hearty breakfasts are cooked to order and include locally made Cumberland sausage and free-range eggs delivered from the local farm. We do offer lighter alternatives, and vegetarians are catered for (vegetarian Cumberland sausages as an alternative) - and all meat and non-meat items are cooked and served separately. In addition there is a range of cereals to choose from, grapefruit and fruit juice with fresh toast and a plentiful supply of tea, coffee or herbal infusions.
We have retained our spacious ground floor guests' lounge, with a wide array of books, maps and guides, and we are happy to help plan your days to make the most of your time staying in the Lake District, whether that involves walking, touring by car or mini-bus (collected from the door) or just relaxing and reading a book. There is also a flat screen digital colour tv and dvd player.
Please note the minimum age for children is 4 years and for everyone's comfort we are a completely non-smoking Guest House.
Our Lake District Location in Windermere
The railway station is approximately 7-8 minutes' walk or short taxi ride away. The shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs of Windermere are within 2 minutes' walk of Kenilworth Guest House, and bustling Bowness (for boat rides and the Beatrix Potter Attraction) is only a 20 minute walk or short bus ride away. There are lots of walks from our front door - the spectacular view from Orrest Head makes this walk a must. Mini-bus tours can be arranged to come to the house to collect you too. With or without your own transport, Kenilworth Guest House makes an ideal base for exploring Cumbria and the Lake District.
We have some private off-road parking, and there is free public parking on Holly Road and other local side roads.
