Welcome to our Self Catering Cottage in France.
La Haute Mare is two carefully renovated and converted holiday cottages with all the comforts of home, "Les Moissons" & " Les Semailles". Each cottage sleeps 8 in 4 bedrooms and each has 3 bathrooms, its own terrace area and shares the heated fenced pool, and other facilities. Fully enclosed site, large lawns, safe for children. Separate parking area.
In the village of St Aubin la Plaine, within easy reach of lovely beaches of the Vendee coast (La Tranche sur Mer, La Faute sur Mer) and in an area rich in holiday activities & sites to visit. the village has a bar and a shop for basic necessities. The town of Ste Hermine is at 5 minutes by car, offering restaurants, shops, a supermarket and an excellent market once a week. The heated pool is 12m x 6m and features a shallow paddling area on the top step, ideal for toddlers. The pool area is fully fenced for safety and has underwater lights for late night swimming. Pool open & heated from 7th May to 1st October. The owners live on site (some English spoken).
Cottage Les Semailles:
Ground floor - Large lounge/dining room, separate kitchen with breakfast table, large double bedroom with en-suite shower room with toilet, further shower room with toilet, utility room. First Floor - Double bedroom, two twin bedrooms, bathroom, separate toilet. Fully equipped, including : Satellite TV (English channels), dvd, Wi-Fi Internet access, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave, gas hob, electric oven, kettle, toaster, iron, ironing board, etc. Terrace with garden dining furniture, built-in barbecue. Off-road parking. Central heating.
Cottage Les Moissons:
Ground floor - Lounge/dining room with fitted kitchen, double bedroom, twin bedroom, bathroom, separate toilet, utility room. First Floor - Spiral staircase, leading to delightful double bedroom, en-suite shower room with toilet. Adjacent annex - twin bedroom with en-suite shower room and toilet. Fully equipped, including : Satellite TV (English channels), dvd, Wi-Fi Internet access, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave, gas hob, electric oven, kettle, toaster, iron, ironing board, etc. Terrace with garden dining furniture, built-in barbecue. Off-road parking. Central heating.
Holiday activities and places to visit:
20 miles takes you to La Faute sur Mer, superb sandy beaches, stretching along 12 miles of coastline with dunes & pine forests, including La Tranche sur Mer (watersports, windsurfing, jet-skis, sailing), round to the port of Jard sur Mer (Clemenceau museum, street market, port). Colourful local market at Ste Hermine (4 miles) on Friday morning. Old town and port of La Rochelle (38 miles) - fabulous aquarium. - History theme park of Le Puy du Fou (40 miles) - medieval village, roman amphitheatre, great for children. - Gardens of Court d'Aron (16 miles) - thousands of exotic plants, lotus flower lakes - Chateau de la Guignardiere (25 miles) - children's treasure trail, picnic spots - Vineyards at Mareuil sur Lay (12 miles). 18 hole golf at Nesmy (24 miles). Fishing at river Lay (8 miles). Sea fishing boat trips can be arranged by the owners.
