Lakeside Gite 'Weir Cottage' Self Catering with pool Limousin, Balledent holiday cottage

We are Brian and Taunya Smith and have been here in the beautiful Haute Vienne for two years. Our gites were completely renovated in the Spring of 2009, the situation of them is quite unique, our total property is completely surrounded by the river Couze and both our gites overlook our lake to the front and the river at the rear, this makes our property un-suitable for children.  

As well as the bbq, tables and chairs outside the gite, our guests also have the use of our above-ground pool and the hot-tub, perfect for a relaxing holiday. Weir Cottage does have, as well as the double bedroom, a large bed-settee in the lounge and so it would accommodate two couples. Our lake is stocked with carp and also stunning Koi carp  who are pemanently hungry and it is quite a sight when we feed them, it looks like a heaving mass of piranhas!!! The area is quite beautiful and is excellent if you enjoy walking, cycling, bird watching, photography. painting (the well known artist Fred Yates lived locally until his death early in 2009), we have all sorts of birds and wildlife; buzzards, hawks, deer, wild boar and, one of our regular visitors is a coypu.
