Welcome to our Pet Friendly Normandy Bed and Breakfast
Welcome to Le Chat Choclat, our restored traditional Normandy farmhouse offering B&B with character and atmosphere combined with modern comforts and facilities. We offer a warm, friendly and attentive welcome at our bed and breakfast in Forges-les-Eaux, Normandy in France.
Gourmet quality (but unpretentious) French , International and Asiatic/Oriental meals are available on a Table d'Hôtes basis. We offer first-class hospitality at competitive rates for overnight stops and short breaks, with generous reductions for extended visits. Pets and dogs are welcome at our guest house.
Our Normandy B&B Facilities
We have four pretty, charming and comfortable ensuite guest bedrooms (one featuring a king-size four-poster bed) which are spacious and well-equipped Our bedrooms are either king, double or twin-bedded, and a third (single) bed can usually be made available if required (a fourth bed is available in the Burmese Suite) - or a cot for children up to 4 years old - and a camp-bed or an airbed to squeeze in another person if required. Our rooms also benefit from:
· tea and coffee making facilities
· full length mirror, hair-dryer and a dressing table with mirror
· television and video-tape player
· bookcase or shelf with a selection of books
Please note that our B&B is a non-smoking establishment. Those of our guests who need the occasional smoke may do so well away from the house, at the end of the garden - where they will find a bench and sandbox provided for their convenience.
Food and Dining at our Guest House in France
Food, of course, is very important to you when on holiday or even away on business. Thus, it is also very important to us - and we work hard to ensure that you enjoy our culinary delights. Being in France and catering not only for UK guests but also for French visitors as well as those from other parts of the Continent, we provide a luxurious and plentiful continental breakfast every morning. However, we do understand that this is not practical for those of you with wheat allergies and also that some visitors from the UK and other parts of the world do prefer a cooked breakfast whilst away from home; we therefore offer a cooked breakfast, when available, at a small supplementary cost.
Our Normandy B&B Facilities for less mobile and disabled guests
For the benefit of those of our guests who have difficulty with stairs, we have created two of these guest rooms on the ground floor, one with no steps at all and one for which we can provide a ramp to enable wheelchair-using guests to easily negotiate the few shallow steps leading to it.
Our Pet Friendly Chambres d’Hôtes and B&B in Normandy
Well-behaved pets including dogs may accompany their owners only by prior arrangement and with permission (and on terms) agreed in advance. You will appreciate that we have to consider the safety and well-being of our own cats.
Children at our bed and breakfast
We regret that (save for a high-chair and a cot for up to age 4) we are unable to provide any facilities for babies, toddlers or very young children. However, well-behaved, quiet and disciplined children will be made very welcome at our B&B.
Our B&B location in Normandy
Our Bed and Breakfast is located in Forges-les-Eaux, in Normandy, in the heart of Bray country, the region bordering the Haute Normandie and Picardie. As a holiday resort and a town in bloom, Forges-les-Eaux is situated in a green and wooded landscape, surrounded by the Forest of Bray and the Epinay Wood from whence flow a configuration of rivers such as the Andelle, Epte and Béthune, rivers which slowly wind their way between the valleys of the region with vast and spectacular views.
As a lively tourist resort, Forges-les-Eaux has many amenities on offer such as: the Grand Casino (with over 250 slot machines), Club-Med (health spa), the Jean Bauchet Centre, Arts Centre, hiking routes and walks around the many lakes in the area.
A visit to a local market (Thursday and Sunday mornings) is a must, as is the farm produce market held on each Sunday in July and August on the banks of the Andelle Lake. Local specialities to fill your baskets include: cheese from Neufchâtel, cider, pommeau, calvados, honey and orchard fruits. You will find more of these delicious flavours on offer at local restaurants and farmhouses.
