Welcome to our beautiful Holiday Cottage in the fantastic Cognac region of Charente Maritime in West France. A well known wine producing region, Cognac is an extremely picturesque area, where rolling vineyards and beautiful flower meadows are commonplace and the smell of the flowers permeates the air around you. This spectacular region has many attractions to offer, and has something for everyone to do and see. Our holiday cottage is set in the grounds of Le Manoir Souhait, which is steeped in Charentais history and extremely attractive.
The Manoir itself is set around a gorgeous courtyard and has a Jacuzzi and heated swimming pool which guests are permitted to use at most times.
Our Holiday Cottage Features and Accommodation in France
Our Holiday Cottage, Le Verger, can sleep up to five people in one twin room and one triple room, both of which are large, airy and extremely comfortable. The twin room has two single beds, and the triple room has a double bed and a single bed, and is best used for a family room by most. The bathroom, on the first floor, is very well decorated and modern, with a toilet, sink and Jacuzzi bath. The living room is large and spacious with an open fire, plenty of seating, tv, dvd player and a large library of DVD’s for our guests. The kitchen is fully equipped and modern, and has all the necessary appliances. The dining room is large and spacious, and has a large table which can easily seat all the guests in the cottage.
Guests are more than welcome to use the swimming pool and sauna in the Manoir and this is a perfect place to socialise with any other guests while relaxing by the pool. Outside there is a private terrace for Cottage guests, which opens out onto a small tranquil orchard garden. There is also opportunity to join us for breakfast at the Manoir House.
Our Charante Maritime Location in France
Our holiday cottage is situated in the picturesque region of Cognac in western France, and so is an extremely attractive let. The scenic surroundings make it the perfect site for a relaxing holiday in the French countryside, and there are still many things to do in the area. There are several places in the close vicinity where guests can go to play golf, go swimming, taste the local wines and foods, go fishing, take part in water sports, go climbing and walking, and do some cycling and mountain biking. There are many idyllic walks around the grounds of the Manoir, or you can go further afield for some fantastic walks around the surrounding vineyards and rolling meadows. On site, Danielle provides a horse riding service, which gives you the opportunity to explore the countryside at a leisurely pace. Also Noel Lepreux, our local wine agent, frequently hosts wine tasting events at our Holiday Cottage, which guests are welcome and encouraged to take part in.
