Le Tilleul is set within the peaceful village of Paizay le Tort, a charming river valley encompassed by three chateaux surrounded by sunflowers in the Poitou Charentes region, 5km from the Romanesque market town of Melle. The River Berlande meanders through the village, and pleasant walks, rambles or bicycle rides can be found from this most typical French village, which has a Roman church, friendly bar/restaurant, tennis courts and obstacle course only a short stroll away. Known for its micro-climate, the region is the second sunniest region in France, with Poitiers airport 45 minutes and La Rochelle a little further.
Les Hirondelles (sleeps 4) a detached 18th century barn conversion. Large equipped fitted oak kitchen, dining room and lounge with woodburner. Beautiful ash staircase. Exposed oak beams, stone and parquet throughout, colour sat t.v, d.v.d and c.d player and wi-fi. Two large bedrooms both with either shower or bathroom ensuite. Private garden of walnut and fig trees. Nearby orchard with plums, apples, nectarines.
