Enjoying a lovely outlook across Loch Awe from the comfort of both lounge and paio, Stable offers flexible accommodation for 4 people with zip-linked double or twin bed options in both bedrooms.
Blarghour is a hill farm of 2,000 acres of traditional black-faced sheep and Luing cattle on which unrestricted walking may be enjoyed: to the shores o Loch Awe, the Blarghour waterfall and the ruined settlements above Barn at Blarghour and further along the old drove road at Barr-beithe.
Fishing on Loch Awe (trout, salmon, char, pike and perch) is by permit only and permits are available at the farm.
Our Argyll Location
Loch Awe is a fresh water loch 25 miles long. Dotted with islands and 3 castles (kilchurn, Innischonnel and Fincairn) boats may be hired locally from Loch Awe Boats.
Ornithology: golden eagle, sea eagle (recently), osprey, divers, oyster-catchers, curlew, snipe, wood cock (winter only), dippers, grouse etc.
Within easy reach during a days motoring are: Glencoe, Fort William and Ben Nevis, Loch Lomond, the Trossachs, Dunoon and beautiful Loch Eck, Crinan, Oban and the Isles of Mull, Iona, Islay, Gigha and Arran, while more locally one may visit Inveraray Castle, and an 18th Century jail. Crauchan Power Station and scenic Glen Orchy also merit a visit as do the many beautiful gardens which are open to the public.
