Longknowe is a wonderful rural retreat at all times of year. It is a long stone built farmhouse a mile or so up a remote Cheviot valley. It is warm and comfortable, with the hills and the Northumbrian National Park on the doorstep. You can birdwatch from the front terrace or the back deck, or spend all day walking the hills around you.
The beach is about 15 miles away, with Holy Island, Bamburgh, Norham Castle, Berwick, Ford and Etal, and Wooler all within easy reach. Hadrian's Wall and Edinburgh are also good day trips.
It has a big farmhouse kitchen with an aga and an electric hob, two fridges, and a freezer in an outhouse. It has two small sitting rooms, both with open fires, two modern bathrooms, with baths and power showers. Bedroom 1 has a queen sized bed, bedroom 2, full size bunks, bedroom 2, two single beds, and bedroom 4 a standard double bed. It has a front lawn and an enclosed paddock at the back. A stream runs though part of the property with a ford outside the house.
It sits in the middle of a sheep farm. We welcome one well behaved dog.
