Lower Grisedale Lodge, Glenridding Patterdale holiday cottage

Grisedale Lodge is a lovely traditional Lakeland house which dates back to Victorian times and now provides a choice of comfortable B&B or superb self catering holiday accommodation.  Our idyllic location, close to the southern shores of Ullswater lake and at the heart of the Lake District, means you can enjoy the peace and quiet, whilst surrounded by inspiring views of the Lake District scenery.

Our holiday cottage:

Lower Grisedale Lodge forms the ground floor of Grisedale Lodge and provides spacious and comfortable holiday accommodation for up to 5 people.  The holiday cottage is designed round a large hall with its own comfy sofa.  The well equipped kitchen looks over the garden and has a breakfast table and plenty of work surfaces for the enthusiastic cook.  The comfortable lounge and dining room has a multi fuel stove and storage heater and is equipped with Sky Freeview tv, dvd player and CD player.  There is plenty of information about the local area and a selection of DVDs and CDs for you to enjoy.  This room leads into the light and airy conservatory - ideal for planning your next day out, enjoying the stunning scenery or savouring your after-dinner glass of wine.  You may even catch sight of our woodpecker!  From the conservatory you have easy access to the enclosed garden which has plenty of outside seating.  

Our self catering holiday cottage has three bedrooms - one double bedroom; one twin bedroom; and one single bedroom.  All have plenty of storage for all the stuff you bring on holiday and are heated by storage heaters.  The bathroom has a bath and separate shower, toilet and wash basin.  The holiday cottage also has private parking for up to two cars.

Lower Grisedale Lodge is located midway between the Lakeland villages of Patterdale and Glenridding, in a small group of houses at Grisedale Bridge.   Patterdale and Glenridding are both within walking distance and offer shops, pubs, cafes, national park information centre, petrol station and medical centre.  The cottage is well located for exploring the Lake District National Park ~ Keswick, Windermere and Ambleside are within a 30 minute drive and Grasmere, Coniston, the Langdales and Borrowdale valley aren't much further away. 

From the cottage door you have a choice of walks for all types of abilities (and weather!):  Striding Edge and Helvellyn, St Sunday Crag, Place Fell and the High Street range;  lovely woodland and valley walks with pubs en route; and one of Wainwright''s favourites - the lakeshore walk from Howtown to Glenridding, which is a lovely introduction to the Ullswater valley.

Ideal for a romantic break, a family holiday, some real peace and relaxation or an energetic walking, biking or sailing holiday.
