The Mistal and has been lovingly restored to offer is a luxury 5 star self catering holiday accomodation which sleeps up to 4 guests. Built in the 17th century The restoration has retained many of the original features of the building making this a really special place to stay for a relaxing break.
The cottage in this idyllic location in the heart of the southern lakes, just 1 mile from Lake Windermere, offers guests the opportunity to spend time amongst the natural splendours of the National Park and enjoy the peace and tranquillity.
On the ground floor you will find 2 spacious bedrooms; one with King size bed and the other twin beds. Going up the oak staircase you arrive in the open plan living area, which has wonderful views across the Windermere valley towards the Coniston fells.
Exposed oak beams and tasteful lighting give a warm relaxing cottage atmosphere, complimented by the oak dining table and comfortable lounge area with leather sofas. There is extensive use of oak flooring throughout the living area, but for your added warmth and comfort, bedrooms are sumptuously carpeted and the natural stone flooring in the bathroom has under floor heating - to keep your toes warm on the way to the large walk-in shower.
The Mistal is centrally heated for those cosy evenings when you just want to put your feet up, relax and enjoy the ambiance of this unique Lakeland barn conversion. The oak kitchen is fully equipped and fitted to a high standard, and there is also a utility/drying room available on the ground floor.
The Mistal is in an area rich in cultural heritage and offers many fascinating days out. Whether your interest is in Stately Homes and Topiary Garden, Steam Railways or Wild Life you will find it in the Lake District. Also if you are a little more energetic you will find excellent walking, orienteering, water sports, horse riding and cycling in some of the most beautiful surroundings in the country.
