Welcome to Nether Glenny Cottages.
Situated in a prominent location above the Lake of Menteith in Central Scotland. They offer spectacular views out across the Lake and the surrounding Stirlingshire countryside. Nether Glenny is located within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. The area is well known for it’s natural scenic beauty and the lochs are famous for water sports, including water skiing, wind surfing and sailing.
If you enjoy any of the following then Buzzard cottage is for you: Cycling, mountain biking, walking, hiking, wildlife watching, golf, running, fishing, sightseeing, views and of course relaxation. There are also many enjoyable activities for children in the local area. Among the most popular are pony trekking, Go Ape High Ropes, watersports, McLaren sports centre swimming pool and the Nether Glenny rope swing. There is also a lovely swing park in Aberfoyle that is very popular with visitors in the summer.
Buzzard has 2 large bedrooms upstairs which are both en suite. The bathrooms each have a bath and plenty of hot water. There are no showers in Buzzard. One bedroom has a luxury Kingsized Bed and the other has a set of twin beds. Two children's beds are available and can be accommodated in the twin room. One of the twin beds also has a full size single bed ( in the base ) which can be pulled out if needed.
The lake of Menteith is home to the famous Inchmaholme Priory, built in the 12th century and was home to Mary Queen of Scots in her infancy. This historic site is enjoyed by many visitors each year. For those interested in History, the entire area has a great deal to offer with castles and other places of interest to be visited, including the King Robert the Bruce Heritage Centre on the site of the famous Battle of Bannockburn. Rob Roy Mc Gregor is buried at Balquhidder, 10 miles north of Nether Glenny.
