Noran Bank Farm is a working farm, situated at the south end of Lake Ullswater just through Patterdale Village. Our B&B is very popular with one night stays as we are only 5 minutes walk away from the Coast to Coast route. We are open from Easter to the end of October.
But why not stay awhile and try the numerous walks and idyllic views on offer right from our door. There are various walks on all levels including all the Lake District Fells and easier walks round the Valley’s below.
Lake Ullswater, considered the most beautiful of all lakes, is our biggest local attraction. The spectacular scenery can be enjoyed while sailing on the Ullswater steamers, walking along the shore or on top of the fells surrounding the lake. You can travel down to Pooley Bridge, make a round trip without embarking or get off at Howtown and walk back to Side Farm at Patterdale to the welcome Tea Rooms. Speed boats and Rowing boats are available for hire at The Lakeside Kiosk in Glenridding and the Ullswater Yachting Club is down by the Lake Shore. We are only 5 minutes away from Glencoyne Bay where William Wordsworth wrote his famous poem about the daffodils which still grow there in the spring.
