Built in the 17th century Old Barn Farm is a charming Lakeland guest house set in beautiful open countryside at the head of the Cartmel valley 1 mile from Lake Windermere.
The house has been imaginatively restored retaining many original features creating a traditional style complemented by modern comforts. The guest lounge has been attractively decorated with cosy log burner, local literature, maps and ideas for walks or days out whatever the weather! We also have a folder of sample menus from local pubs and restaurants for your evening meal.
Each morning enjoy a delicious Lakeland breakfast from our varied menu using local produce where ever possible in our light and airy dining room. Outside we have ample off road parking for guests who can also enjoy our mature garden and surrounding views of the southern Lake District.
We have three luxury en-suite rooms all centrally heated and furnished to the highest standards. Our bedrooms have tasteful, individual décor featuring exposed oak beams and solid oak furniture. The beds are adorned with white Egyptian cotton linen on a sumptuous duvet. The bathrooms feature a traditional white suite, heated towel rail and Italian tiled walls and floor together with complementary toiletries, fluffy bath sheets, hand and face towels.
Each room is equipped with a flat screen lcd television, alarm clock radio, hairdryer, torch, mineral water and hospitality tray with herbal and leaf teas, coffee, hot chocolate and delicious hand baked biscuits.
All the rooms are serviced each morning after breakfast and are available to arriving guests from 4.30pm, unless arranged otherwise.
