Welcome to our Luxury Holiday Flat near Wasdale and Eskdale
Potters Barn is situated on the edge of Gosforth, a pleasant village in the Lake District National Park, which is between the hills and the sea in the west of Cumbria so we often have a much warmer and drier climate than the rest of the Lake District. Gosforth is the gateway to Wasdale and Eskdale and is just 5 miles from Wastwater which was voted ‘Britains favourite view’ in 2008. There are plenty of things for you to see and do in the area, so you'll never be stuck for what to do. Part of a converted 18th Century barn, Potters Barn is very well decorated and furnished, and provides a great base for exploring the nearby attractions.
Our Luxury Self Catering Accommodation and Features
The flat is on the first floor and is split in two levels. The large living room is light and airy with lots of seating and a dining area for 6. The kitchen is well equipped with all modern appliances and plenty of storage/worktop space. The flat has three bedrooms - one double room (ensuite with shower), one twin room and one with bunk beds. There is a bathroom with shower and sink and separate toilet. Outside there is a secluded patio area, which catches the evening light, and you can have a barbeque or sit and relax with a book or a drink. We are 4-star rated by the Cumbria Tourist Board.
Our Location in Gosforth
Situated in the Lake District, the house is literally surrounded by great things to do and see, and has many attractions nearby. There are plenty of opportunities for walking, climbing, cycling and horse riding, among many other activities. It is a very short walk to the 5 village pubs, which serve good food, a large village shop for groceries and newsagents and a bank. For children, a new playground has recently been opened with a recreation ground and the sea, with long sandy beaches, is only 10 minutes drive.
Local activities and things to do
You can enjoy many places to visit and outdoor activities; ramble in the valleys where you will find stunning views - lakes, rivers, woods, old churches - and traditional pubs to revitalise you after your excursions. Alternatively the long sandy beaches of Seascale and St Bees or the Roman village of Ravenglass provide sea and mountain scenery. Visit Muncaster Castle and World Owl Centre or ride on the scenic Minature Railway running from the sea to the hills. There are several golf courses and lots of fishing nearby. The Georgian town of Whitehaven has a marina, museums, historical attractions and a market on Saturdays. Lake District towns such as Keswick, Lake Windemere or Coniston are only 1 hour drive through breathtaking scenery
