Our Self Catering Holiday Cottage is a tastefully converted Ropemaker's Barn, providing high quality spacious accommodation in a relaxed and rural setting. Linked to Selby House B&B, Ropemaker’s Cottage overlooks open fields and our large mature garden, with views to the Blackdown Hills and Wellington Monument. 

Our Self Catering Holiday Cottage’s Accommodation and Features

Our newly converted Rope Maker’s Cottage offers quality self-catering accommodation for up to 6 people. There are 3 bedrooms (2 double, 1 twin), a wet room, a bathroom, a well-equipped kitchen area with cooker, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave etc and open plan sitting/dining room. There is also space to sit and relax on the oak floored landing area. The cottage has good access for people with limited mobility with one of the double bedrooms and a wet room on the ground floor. There is a private patio and barbeque area with garden furniture and guests are welcome to share our large, mature garden and stroll around the paddock, pond and vegetable garden.

Ropemaker’s Cottage is situated a mile from the town of Wellington, with its award winning floral park and displays and many specialist shops. Seven miles east of Wellington lies Taunton, the county town with many architectural gems and home to Somerset County Cricket Ground. Taunton offers an excellent museum, galleries, theatre, restaurants, bars, cinema, and leisure activities. We are situated on the edge of the beautiful Blackdown Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Enjoy walking in the peaceful tree lined country lanes, explore footpaths, go pony-trekking and take in breathtaking views from the landmark Wellington Monument.
