Just a few minutes walk from the medieval centre, capital of Pyrenees Orientales.  Perpignan is a lively/historic city with a distinct Spanish flavour from the 13th and 14th century when the Kings of Majorca held court here.  The city’s ancient attractions include le Castillet 14th century gateway now housing the Casa Pairal Museum, Cathedrale St-jean with its elaborate interior and Palais de Rois de Majorque the royal palace of King James II.  The lively cobbled pedestrianised area is a wash with cafes, brasseries, chic boutiques and chocolatiers together with the Place de la Republique market to name only one selling fine wines/produce from the region at very reasonable prices.  All highly recommended for experiencing a slice of French life.

With its prime location on the Mediterranean coast, our apartment is only a 5 minute walk from the local train/bus station and bip bike hire routes.  Making it an excellent base to explore the coastal resorts and

 Pyrenees.
