Scotchcoulthard Holiday cottages are set on a farm in The Northumberland National Park near Hadrian's Wall at the most spectacular part. It is halfway between Carlisle and Hexham on the edge of Kielder Forest.
Although remote, not another inhabited dwelling can be seen, it is possible to be in Newcastle or Carlisle within the hour.
There are 4 fully equipped self-catering cottages. Two are single bedroomed and two are two bedroomed. All have en-suite facilities. There is also a twin room with en-suite shower, fridge, kettle, toaster, tv/dvdplayer that can be used as an extra room to a cottage or as a B&B room only room. There is access to a kitchen if required.
Set in 180 acres of farmland, woods and streams it is ideal for exploring. The farm is surrounded by forest or common land and dogs are very welcome at no extra charge and no restriction on number. There are plenty of places to walk off the lead.
Children can enjoy many outdoor activites including, stream walking, wildlife spotting (there are red squirrels, badgers, deer to name but a few), camping, star-gazing (the skies are pollution free and can be fabulous), climbing trees making camps and many more.
There is an indoor heated pool (12m x 5m x 1.2m(depth).
There is also a kitchen and large dining table that can be used by guests for large parties.
There are a number of farm animals including pigs, sheep, hens, ducks and ponies. You are welcome to help out with the feeding.
