Newlyn and the surrounding area
Throughout the year one is guaranteed an ever changing canvas which can range from an icy force nine gale blasting in from Atlantic during the depths of winter or just quietly watching the bustling port of Newlyn on a balmy summer evening as it goes about its nocturnal business.
Within short walking distance to the village below there are many pubs, gourmet restaurants, cafes, convenience stores and the world renowned Newlyn Art Gallery. Wander down quaint streets and pass the cobbled courtyards of the fisherman's cottages as you meander down to the bustling harbour quays. Just five minutes by car or a twenty minute stroll along the waterside is Penzance, the principle town of West Cornwall. Nestled in the shelter of Mounts Bay and dominated by the grandeur of St Michaels Mount, Penzance is a lively town that faces southeast so its location gives it a temperate climate. Penzance offers sea and air links to the famous sub tropical isles of Scilly.
Ten miles away lies romantic St Ives offering a truly cultural experience with over 40 galleries hidden down cobbled streets. The sweeping St Ives Bay hails two of the countries finest beaches, Porthmeor and Porthminster.
With awe-inspiring cliff top scenery and spectacular views to Long ships and Wolf Rock lighthouses, Lands End, mainland Britain’s most westerly point, is one of the most visited outdoor attractions in Cornwall. Stop en route at Sennen beach.
