Loch Cottage and America Cottage are two very well equipped cottages situated within a private woodland and lakeside country estate an easy drive from Edinburgh at the foot of the Pentland Hills. Loch Cottage, a gamekeeper's cottage originally, is attached tothe owners' house, although self contained and sleeps 4 and has a truly commanding view over Slipperfield Loch. Honeymooners, family reunions, or just for a break away from it all, this cottage is ideal for enjoying the countryside on your doorstep or for venturing further afield to Edinburgh or the Scottish Borders. America Cottage, sleeping up to 6, is a five minute walk down the drive from Loch Cottage, and is more secluded, with privacy and nature surrounding the cottage, with roedeer and foxes, osprey and otters. This also has been home for families, dogs, and also the less able as it is all on one level although not classified as perfect for disabled. This cottage has many more features such as a power shower over the bath, dishwasher, fridge freezer and more space. Your hosts Colin and Carol are able to help you with anything that you may wish to know, and the cottages are of a high standard with everything thought of to make this a really comfortable stay. Dogs are welcome, maximum two per cottage, and there are many lovely woodland walks. There is a bus service from the end of the drive which is useful to get to Edinburgh City Centre, about 55 minutes. By car this journey is around 35 minutes, depending on the traffic at the time. Slipperfield is a magical place perfect for enjoying many pursuits, and you are most welcome.
