Smugglers Cove Cottage is situated next to Watermouth Cove and Castle on the beautiful North Devon coast between Combe Martin and Ilfracombe.
Smugglers Cove is self catering cottage apartment which sleeps up to 8 people and has a lounge with TV dvd radio a log burner, fully equipped kitchen dining room and three bedrooms.
Smugglers Cove is one of Watermouth Cove Cottages which were once coaching houses for Watermouth Castle. The cottages retain many original features much and charm.
The cottage grounds, set in a beautiful wooded valley, are a haven for wild life including many wild birds such as Woodpeckers, Jays, Goldfinches, Nuthatches, Robins and Blue Tits.
Watermouth Cove is a sheltered coastal haven for small sailing boats and sea birds. The South West Coastal path passes through the cove on its way from Exmoor along the North Devon coast. The cove is a great place to admire the scenery, walk the dog and watch the sunsets.
Near to the cottages is the beautiful village of Berrynarbor and coastal resorts of Combe Martin, Hele bay and Ilfracombe with their pubs, restaurants shops and beaches. A short drive away are the large golden surfing beaches of Woolacombe, Croyde, Saunton Sands and the beautiful Exmoor National Park with its wonderful scenery.
There are plenty of local attractions for all of the family starting with Watermouth Castle and theme park next to the cottages and including The Exmoor National Park, Lynton & Barnstaple steam railway, Exmoor Zoo, Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park, The Heddon Valley & Hunters Inn, Arlington Court & stage coach museum, Chambercombe Manor, Ilfracombe Tunnels Beach, Aquarium & Museum etc as well as boat cruises along the coast and Lundy Island.
Local surfing beaches at Woolacombe, Croyde and Sauton Sands are amongst the finest in Britain offering miles of golden sand. The local area is great for all types of out door activities including golf, walking, fishing, sailing, horse riding, sea kayaking, climbing, cycling, bird watching, photography etc or simply relaxing with a Devonshire cream tea or pint of local beer. For those who enjoy their food there are plenty of good pubs, restaurants many using local produce.
The North Devon coast is an officially rocognised Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty aonb and due to its clear night sky, Exmoor has just been designated an International Dark Sky Reserve.
Watermouth Cove Cottages can accommodate large groups of up to 40 people in total making them ideal for family reunions, special events, walking groups etc.
