Welcome to Stanegate Cottage
Our pet friendly holiday cottage in Greenhead, Northumberland, near Hadrian's wall. The cottage offers quality self catering accommodation and sleeps 4.
Our holiday cottage was formerly the cow byre of the old farmstead, Bank Top Farm, which fell into disuse half a century ago. We converted the building in 2002 and it is now a very comfortable and homely place for a relaxing holiday. It is tastefully furnished and decorated with natural wood floors, pine furniture, equipment and accessories.
The living room / kitchen has comfy sofas in which to relax , with Sky Freeview TV, DVD and radio/CD. Plenty of information about the area and lots of books to read are supplied. The kitchen has a full size gas cooker, microwave, fridge and washing machine and if you need a freezer you are welcome to use our freezer. Crockery, glass and cooking utensils are sufficient for any meal you may like to make. On a cooler evening you can light the wood burner (a plentiful supply of logs is always available). From the French window you can often watch the many and varied birds which visit the bird table to feed - woodpeckers, nuthatch, goldfinches to mention a few !! You may even see a red squirrel in our garden.
There are two bedrooms. The larger double bedroom has a king size bed, plenty of storage and glorious views from the window. The other bedroom has twin beds and both are supplied with attractive bed linen and extra blankets. If you would prefer NOT to use a duvet on the bed please say and the bed will be made with a sheet and blankets.
The bathroom does not have a bath, but a large shower cubicle, WC and wash basin with heated towel rail and shaver point.
Outside the French window is a small patio with table and chairs for you to sit with a glass of wine on a summer evening.
Close to the towns of Hexham and Haltwhistle. Also close to the major towns of Carlisle and Newcastle.
